Job summary

Whānau Āwhina Plunket in Tauranga invites a part-time Community Services Coordinator to engage with families, volunteers and local partners. You will help connect caregivers to services and raise the programme’s profile across the community, including events and groups.

The role emphasises culturally safe practice, volunteer coordination, and building strong relationships with whānau while supporting tamariki to thrive in a inclusive, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement is advantageous.
• Ability to work with volunteers and stakeholders.
• Willingness to work weekends occasionally.
• Computer literacy for posting on social media.
• Ability to understand Māori and Pasifika cultures.

Responsibilities

• Gather insights internally and externally about existing services and opportunities in your community.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
• Raise the profile of Whānau Āwhina Plunket at relevant community events.
• Recruit, onboarding and communicating with our volunteers who run groups, provide in-home support and other initiatives.
