Auckland Council invites applications for a permanent, full-time Manager Te Hono Community Hub in Avondale. The role leads a forward-thinking team in a new civic facility, focused on community connection and mana whenua collaboration.

The library operates seven days a week, offering flexible, wellbeing-oriented working conditions. You will build authentic relationships, embed Māori principles in leadership and services, and drive initiatives that foster local leadership and sustainable community

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team-building experience.
• Ability to engage with mana whenua, community groups, and stakeholders.
• Experience translating strategy into services and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership that empowers communities and strengthens participation.
• Build authentic relationships with mana whenua and community partners to support shared outcomes.
• Embed Te Ao Māori principles, te reo Māori, and tikanga Māori into leadership and service delivery.
• Champion a whānau-centred approach focusing on wellbeing and belonging.
• Lead development of a skilled, culturally responsive workforce through coaching and mentoring.
• Drive strategic initiatives that enhance community outcomes while ensuring strong operational performance.
• Connect people, resources, and opportunities to foster collaboration and local development.
