Job summary
Les Mills is seeking a commercially minded Commercial Planning & Supply Chain Analyst to influence inventory strategy and forecasting for a global merchandise business. You will partner with stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions across forecasting, procurement and reporting, balancing margin, stock health and customer outcomes.
In this hybrid role, you’ll champion process improvements, automation and AI-enabled insights to increase efficiency and accuracy across MERC operations.
Qualifications

The Commercial Planning & Supply Chain Analyst plays a key role in the effective operation of the global merchandise supply chain through data-driven planning, procurement, reporting and operational support. Working closely with the Senior Business Manager and key stakeholders, you will help optimise inventory performance, improve forecasting accuracy, manage supply risks and support commercial decision-making across the business.
You will be responsible for demand forecasting, inventory planning, procurement and factory ordering activities, ensuring product availability while balancing inventory investment, margin and customer outcomes across global markets.
Beyond planning and procurement, this role will champion continuous improvement across MERC operations, identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve data quality, streamline reporting and enhance decision-making through the effective use of technology and AI-enabled tools.
- Strong analytical and commercial problem-solving skills.
- Experience with forecasting, inventory planning and supply chain reporting.
- The ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
- A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy or scalability.
- Experience using automation, reporting tools or AI-enabled solutions to reduce manual effort and improve decision-making.
- Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for challenging existing ways of working and finding smarter solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
- Experience in commercial analysis, supply chain planning, inventory management or a related discipline.
- Experience in forecasting, inventory planning, procurement planning or supply chain reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP, inventory, planning or ecommerce platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Adobe Commerce or similar systems.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of revenue, margin and inventory drivers.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards and performance metrics.
- Experience in retail, consumer products, apparel, sporting goods or other product-based environments would be advantageous.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements, workflow automation or reporting enhancements.
- Experience using business intelligence, analytics or AI tools to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Exposure to S&OP, integrated business planning or supply chain optimisation initiatives would be beneficial.
