Qualifications

• Trade-qualified in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in hotel/resort kitchen or commercial kitchen.
• Food Safety Handlers Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce and present foods per standard recipes.
• Ensure HACCP and local food-safety guidelines are followed.
• Minimise waste and maintain hygiene and cleanliness.
• Provide an exceptional guest experience and support restaurant service.
• Assist with stock management and daily kitchen tasks.

How You'll Shine

As the Commis Chef, you will be responsible for preparing, producing and presenting all foods according to standard recipes and as directed and provide a superior customer experience.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Place highest importance to food safety and hygiene of food preparation as outlined in the HACCP principles and the local guidelines for catering establishments.
• Prepare, produce and present all foods in accordance with identified Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards, commonly accepted in the catering industry.
• Display eagerness to increase food knowledge and skills.
• Strive to minimise food wastage.
• Provide an exceptional Guest experience
• Audit kitchen stock & grocery lines daily & order stock as required

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will be:

• Relevant trade qualifications (ie Commercial Cookery)
• Previous Food & Beverage experience in a Hotel/Resort environment and/or Commerical Kitchen
• Hold a Food Safety Handlers Certificate
• A desire to deliver an exceptional Guest experience
• An adaptive mindset and vision to deliver a quality product
• Attention to detail and a passion for food quality, presentation and consistency
• Punctual, reliable, and presentable
• Excellent grooming standards, professionalism, and reliability
• The ability to work a flexible roster, inclusive of evenings, weekends and public holidays
