Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort is seeking a passionate Commis Chef on a casual basis to join the kitchen team. You will assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections, supporting the team to deliver high-quality dining experiences.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Cookery, understand HACCP and OH&S, and can coach junior teammates. Expect rotating rosters, weekend work, and opportunities for growth within a professional kitchen.

Qualifications

• Relevant Certificate III in Cookery and prior experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine.
• Understanding of HACCP and workplace safety requirements.
• Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all kitchen sections.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.

Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resortare looking for a passionate and motivatedCommis Chefto join our kitchen team on acasualbasis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.


• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.


• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.


• Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.


• Support less experienced team members when required.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday


• No split shifts required


• Shifts may include breakfast, lunch, and dinner services (dinner closes at 7.45pm)

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $36.81 per hour
Saturday: $44.18 per hour
Sunday: $51.54 per hour

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Relevant Certificate III in Cookery and previous experience in a similar role.


• Knowledge of Modern Australian Cuisine.


• Understanding of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.


• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.


• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.


• Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen team members.


• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
