Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. is seeking a Commis Chef in New Zealand to join a dynamic kitchen team. You will prepare, produce and present all foods according to standard recipes and ensure a superior guest experience.

Countdown to HACCP compliance, strict hygiene, and waste minimisation. This role offers professional development and a supportive team culture within a hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications (eg Commercial Cookery).
• Previous Food & Beverage experience in a Hotel/Resort environment and/or Commercial Kitchen.
• Hold a Food Safety Handlers Certificate.
• Desire to deliver an exceptional Guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce and present all foods according to standard recipes and directions.
• Maintain HACCP principles and local food safety guidelines in daily practice.
• Audit kitchen stock and order groceries as required; minimise wastage.
• Provide an exceptional Guest experience with quality presentation.

How You'll Shine

As the Commis Chef, you will be responsible for preparing, producing and presenting all foods according to standard recipes and as directed and provide a superior customer experience.

• Place highest importance to food safety and hygiene of food preparation as outlined in the HACCP principles and the local guidelines for catering establishments.
• Prepare, produce and present all foods in accordance with identified Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards, commonly accepted in the catering industry.
• Display eagerness to increase food knowledge and skills.
• Strive to minimise food wastage.
• Provide an exceptional Guest experience.
• Audit kitchen stock & grocery lines daily & order stock as required.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will be:

• Relevant trade qualifications (ie Commercial Cookery)
