Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. is recruiting a Commis Chef for our Auckland team. You will prepare, produce and present all foods to standard recipes while delivering a superior guest experience.

Responsibilities include HACCP compliance, minimizing waste, stocking audits, and maintaining high hygiene standards. A food safety certificate and a hospitality background are preferred, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications (ie Commercial Cookery).
• Previous Food & Beverage experience in a Hotel/Resort environment and/or Commercial Kitchen.
• Hold a Food Safety Handlers Certificate.
• A desire to deliver an exceptional Guest experience.
• An adaptive mindset and vision to deliver a quality product.
• Attention to detail and a passion for food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Punctual, reliable, and presentable.
• The ability to work a flexible roster, inclusive of evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Place highest importance to food safety and hygiene of food preparation as outlined in HACCP principles and local guidelines for catering establishments.
• Prepare, produce and present all foods in accordance with identified Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards.
• Display eagerness to increase food knowledge and skills.
• Strive to minimise food wastage.
• Provide an exceptional Guest experience.
• Audit kitchen stock & grocery lines daily and order stock as required.
