Job summary

Global Wave Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role works closely with backend (Java/Python) and frontend (React) projects to ensure seamless deployment and performance.

You'll manage AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, IaC with Terraform or Ansible, and monitor systems with Prometheus and ELK. Office-based in Albany, Auckland, with typical hours 2–10:30 P.M., reporting to Head of IT.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of dedicated DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering experience.
• Deep proficiency with AWS services (EC2, EBS, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience (Helm, operators, or service mesh).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash; Java is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Design and maintain Kubernetes clusters and container images.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Tekton, ArgoCD or GitHub Actions.
• Write IaC scripts with Terraform or Ansible for reproducible infra.
• Develop and troubleshoot DevOps apps in Java, Python, React.
• Implement monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• Administer Linux/Windows servers, including kernel tuning and network config.
