Job summary

BNZ seeks a Technical Specialist in Auckland for hybrid work. The role focuses on Windows and Red Hat Linux platforms, VM lifecycle, Terraform patterns, and SOE images. You will contribute to reliable infrastructure delivery and automation in BNZ’s Platforms Domain.

Qualifications

• Strong experience supporting Windows Server and Red Hat Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience managing virtual machines across their full lifecycle (on‑premise and cloud).
• Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Knowledge of standard operating environment (SOE) image creation and maintenance.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting.
• Experience developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks.
• Strong platform troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding patching, security, compliance, and operational risk within enterprise environments.
• A collaborative approach with engineering and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing and improving Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms.
• Supporting the full virtual machine lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning for on‑premise and cloud VM’s.
• Developing, maintaining, and improving reusable Terraform patterns that support consistent infrastructure delivery.
• Creating and maintaining standard operating environment (SOE) images for Windows and Linux platforms.
• Creating playbooks in Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
• Troubleshooting complex platform issues and partnering with platform teams to deliver secure, reliable, and supportable solutions.
