Job summary

Optic Digital is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our Auckland team. You will work across operations, service delivery and continuous improvement, engineering, automating, monitoring, and supporting cloud and hybrid platforms.

You’ll own problems through diagnosis and remediation and lead production adoption of new capabilities. The role requires strong hands-on Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC (Terraform), plus deep knowledge of Azure networking and related services.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Azure cloud experience
• Hands-on in Azure DevOps, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform)
• Knowledge of Azure networking (VNet, subnets, routing, DNS, NSG)
• Experience with Azure Front Door, CDN, App Gateway
• Experience deploying and securing Azure VMs
• Experience with Entra ID app management and secret management
• RBAC and privileged access understanding

Job description

We are supporting a high-profile NZ client in the supply of an additional Cloud DevOps Engineer to supplement their Auckland team.

In this role, you can expect to sit across operations, service delivery and continuous improvement activities. This includes engineering, automating, monitoring, and supporting cloud and hybrid platforms, as well as owning technical problems through diagnosis, remediation, and root-cause analysis.

Additionally, this role will see you designing and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines and reusable Infrastructure as Code, monitoring cloud consumption, maintaining documentation, as well as leading and supporting controlled proof of concepts and production adoption of new capabilities.

What you’ll bring

• At least four years of Azure cloud experience
• Strong hands‑on skills in Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including Terraform
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, including Virtual Networks, subnets, routing, DNS, and network security controls
• Experience with Azure Front Door, Content Delivery Network (CDN), and Application Gateway
• Experience deploying, configuring, securing, and supporting Azure Virtual Machines
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID application management, Conditional Access policies, and secure secret management
• Strong understanding of Azure RBAC, access reviews, privileged access, and permission management.
