Job summary

Reporting to the Village Manager, you balance hands-on clinical oversight with leadership, quality improvement, and resident-focused care, while guiding a multidisciplinary team in a modern village setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid APC.
• 3+ years in a senior Registered Nurse position within New Zealand.
• Previous experience in a clinical leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of aged care and clinical best practice.
• Sound understanding of quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• InterRAI experience or training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the nursing and caregiving teams.
• Oversee clinical governance, quality systems, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure residents receive safe, personalised, and high-quality care.
• Coach and mentor staff to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
• Partner with residents, families, GPs, and allied health professionals.
• Monitor care planning, assessments, and clinical documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and accreditation activities.
• Participate in the site's after-hours on-call roster.

About the Role

• Sound understanding of quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Confidence using clinical management and reporting systems.
• InterRAI experience or training is advantageous.
