Recmatrix Consulting in Mount Maunganui is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to provide clinical leadership and operational support for the Care Home Manager. The role focuses on high-quality resident care, team performance and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee care plans, mentor staff, and participate in quality and safety programs while deputising for the Care Home Manager as needed and supporting day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • Current NZ Registered Nurse practising certificate (APC).
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in aged care, residential care or a related healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to support and develop staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and promote safe, evidence-based and resident-centred care.
  • Coordinate care reviews, monitor care delivery and ensure clinical documentation and care plans are maintained to the required standard.
  • Support staff in managing complex resident needs and provide direct clinical care when required.
  • Supervise and support the care team, providing guidance, coaching, feedback and performance support.
  • Facilitate staff training, competency development and Careerforce assessments as required.
  • Support quality, health and safety programmes and ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Position: Clinical Coordinator

Location: Mount Maunganui

Employment Type: Fixed Term

Position Purpose

To provide clinical leadership and operational support to the Care Home Manager, ensuring high-quality resident care, effective team performance and compliance with clinical, quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and promote safe, evidence-based and resident-centred care.
  • Coordinate care reviews, monitor care delivery and ensure clinical documentation and care plans are maintained to the required standard.
  • Support staff in managing complex resident needs and provide direct clinical care when required.
  • Supervise and support the care team, providing guidance, coaching, feedback and performance support.
  • Facilitate staff training, competency development and Careerforce assessments as required.
  • Support quality, health and safety programmes and ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address clinical or operational issues and escalated matters appropriately.
  • Deputise for the Care Home Manager when required and support the day-to-day operation of the care home.
  • Maintain effective relationships with residents, families/whānau, staff and external healthcare providers.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, committees, on-call arrangements and organisational initiatives.
  • Maintain current nursing competence and a professional portfolio in accordance with NZ Nursing Council requirements.
Required skills and experience
Essential
  • Current NZ Registered Nurse practising certificate (APC).
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in aged care, residential care or a related healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to support and develop staff.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Sound understanding of quality, risk, health and safety and compliance.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and changing priorities.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to resident-centred care and culturally responsive practice.
