Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group based in Northland is seeking a Clinical Practice Manager to lead a nurse-led clinic delivering primary care, immunisations, screening and health education. With no GP onsite, you will ensure safe practice and support clinical decision-making to respond effectively to community needs.

You will oversee the clinical team, drive quality, safety and governance, and work with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and kaiāwhina to deliver coordinated, whānau-centred care

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with current practising status.
  • Experience leading clinical or nursing services.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and risk management.
  • Ability to coach staff and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication with stakeholders and leadership within nurse-led settings.
  • Understanding of primary care and community health.

  • Support staff with complex clinical decisions and escalation pathways.
  • Coordinate workflows, staffing priorities and day-to-day service delivery.
  • Coach and develop Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and kaiāwhina.
  • Maintain clinical policies, procedures and documentation standards.
  • Lead incident reviews, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support immunisation, screening and community outreach programmes.
  • Build relationships with external health providers and community partners.
  • Promote culturally responsive practice and equitable health outcomes.

Job description

Based in central Northland, this role provides leadership across a busy nurse-led clinic delivering primary care, immunisations, screening, health education and outreach. With no GP routinely onsite, the Clinical Practice Manager will be central to maintaining safe practice, supporting clinical decision-making and ensuring the service responds effectively to community needs.

Role Summary

You will lead the clinical team and oversee the quality, safety and consistency of nursing services. Working closely with organisational leadership, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and kaiāwhina, you will help create a well-coordinated environment where staff can deliver effective, whānau-centred care.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday, with some community outreach activities taking place outside standard hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visible clinical leadership across clinic and outreach services
  • Oversee clinical quality, safety and professional nursing practice
  • Support staff with complex clinical decisions and escalation pathways
  • Coordinate workflows, staffing priorities and day-to-day service delivery
  • Coach and develop Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and other health workers
  • Maintain clinical policies, procedures and documentation standards
  • Lead incident reviews, risk management and continuous quality improvement
  • Support immunisation, screening, health promotion and community outreach programmes
  • Build productive relationships with external health providers and community partners
  • Promote culturally responsive practice and equitable health outcomes for whānau
About You
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and holding a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Relevant experience leading clinical or nursing services
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management
  • Confident providing leadership within a nurse-led environment
  • Able to coach staff, manage competing priorities and address performance concerns constructively
  • Sound understanding of primary care, community health or Māori health service delivery
  • Committed to culturally safe, whānau-centred practice
  • Strong written, verbal and stakeholder communication skills
  • Holds a full, clean and current New Zealand driver licence
  • Holds current New Zealand work rights, as employer-supported visa sponsorship is not available
