Nelson Marlborough Health in Nelson Hospital is seeking a Clinical Administration Support Reliever to cover administration and secretarial duties across departments, enabling smooth patient flow.
You will organise appointments, manage wait-lists for surgery, book procedures, type clinical correspondence, and liaise with hospitals, funding providers, patients and GPs; the successful candidate must be detail-oriented, computer-literate, and able to adapt to changing locations.

As a ClinicalAdministration Support Reliever, you will work across arange of administration areas within the hospital, covering leave, sickness andgeneral departmental support. They are a positive and highly motivatedworkforce who enjoy the challenge of working alongside a range ofmulti-disciplinary teams including physicians, surgeons, registrars, nurses,other clinical professionals and administration staff. The primaryresponsibility is to provide day-to-day cover for administration andsecretarial roles, to enable the smooth flow of patients throughout thehospital.
Duties will include: office and ward administration,organising appointments, wait-listing patients for surgery, booking surgeries,Dictaphone typing of clinical correspondence, and liaising with otherhospitals, funding providers, patients and GPs.
This is a permanent, part-time roleworking 56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE), Monday to Friday.
Our office hours are generally workedbetween the hours of 7.00AM and 5.00PM, however, hours will be discussed withthe successful candidate.

As Clinical Administration Support (Reliever), you will bepositive and highly motivated as well as enjoy thechallenge of working across a range of multi-disciplinary teams.
You will be able toapply your attention to detail, skill for data management and accuracy insupporting our clinical staff in accessing vital patient clinical content whichsaves lives and improves our patient’s care journey.
You will be team-focussedand thrive in a busy environment delivering quality customer service. It is also important that you enjoy the challenge ofmanaging last minute changes, can adapt easily to frequent changes to worklocation, all whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention todetails.
Previousadministration or secretarial experience, a high degree of computer literacyand the ability to work autonomously are essential. Experience with hospitalmanagement systems and knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
Our preferred candidate will be required to undertake a computerskills assessment.
Thesuccessful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZvisa at the time of applying.
