Job summary

Southland Adventist Christian School in Invercargill invites applications for a Classroom Teacher (Years 1-8). This full-time permanent position seeks a Certificated teacher who can teach a multilevel class and foster literacy and numeracy across a growing, supportive community.

The successful candidate will engage in religious instruction in line with the school’s Seventh-day Adventist character and contribute to the development of a modern campus opening 2027. Term 1, 2027 commencement.

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher for Years 1–8 (primary/intermediate).
• Capable of teaching a multilevel class with strong literacy and numeracy focus.
• Strong collegiality with staff and effective classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Teach a multilevel class across Years 1-8.
• Deliver engaging lessons in English, Maths, PE, and other subjects.
• Contribute to the school’s Seventh-day Adventist character within programmes.

Southland Adventist Christian School is a growing school located in Invercargill with a supportive community and friendly group of staff. The school is currently a full primary (Years 1 to 8) but is becoming a composite school with the addition of Year 9 in 2027.

We seek a primary teacher who is enthusiastic, passionate, well-organised, highly skilled and capable of teaching a multilevel class. The successful applicant will have strengths in literacy and mathematics, value strong collegiality with school colleagues and be confident in classroom management.
