Job summary

Stirling School in South Otago invites an inspiring, experienced teacher to join our supportive, future-focused team. This full-time, fixed term position for the 2027 academic year starts 01/02/2027. Experience with NZ Curriculum would be an advantage. We are a small rural Year 0-8 school near Balclutha & the Catlins, with a nurturing, community-focused learning culture. We value strong relationships and structured literacy/mathematics instruction.

Qualifications

• We’re after a collaborative practitioner who: Builds strong relationships with tamariki and whānau, modelling our STAR values
• Knows the NZ Curriculum and uses assessment to inform, adapt, and differentiate teaching
• Demonstrates strengths in multi-level classroom teaching and explicit instruction, using structured approaches to literacy and mathematics
• Creates inclusive, orderly classrooms (we are a PB4L school)
• Capable of creating a nurturing environment that meets the neurodiverse needs of children
• Ability to work productively and collegially within the teaching team
• A willingness to get involved in wider school events
