Qualifications

• Strong route-planning ability and experience managing complex loads or deliveries independently are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 5 heavy vehicle across varied and demanding routes, including complex or oversized loads
• Independently plan and adjust delivery routes to manage tight timeframes, site access, and changing conditions
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying and escalating mechanical issues
• Oversee safe loading, unloading, and restraint of high-value or hazardous cargo
• Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, including Dangerous Goods and fatigue management requirements
• Maintain precise logbooks, trip sheets, and compliance documentation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, site contacts, and dispatch teams
• Mentor or support less experienced drivers where required
• Proactively manage vehicle maintenance scheduling to minimise downtime
• Respond effectively to unexpected delivery challenges or site issues
• Undertake other senior driving or logistics duties as required by management
