MOVe Group is seeking an experienced Class 5 Swinglift Driver to join our growing team in Tauranga, Central Bay of Plenty. This is a full-time position based in our Tauranga depot, where you will be responsible for operating swinglift vehicles to transport and deliver goods safely and efficiently across the region. This role is central to our operations, ensuring that our customers receive reliable and professional service whilst maintaining the highest safety standards. You will be driving from our Tauranga location and may be required to work variable hours depending on operational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Operating a Class 5 swinglift vehicle safely and professionally in accordance with all relevant legislation and company policies
- Transporting goods and materials to designated locations within agreed timeframes
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the swinglift is in safe working order
- Loading, securing and unloading cargo using the swinglift equipment, ensuring loads are balanced and safe
- Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance
- Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Adhering to all traffic regulations, speed limits and safe driving practices at all times
- Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents or safety concerns to management immediately
- Maintaining a professional appearance and providing excellent customer service during all customer interactions
- Keeping the vehicle clean, well-maintained and fit for purpose
What we're looking for
- A valid New Zealand Class 5 Heavy Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience driving heavy vehicles in a commercial transport environment
- A clean driving record and demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices
- Full knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and transport-specific safety regulations
- Ability to operate swinglift equipment safely and competently, including loading and securing cargo
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, dispatch and colleagues
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet delivery schedules
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks, including assisting with loading and unloading
- A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance logs and digital delivery systems is advantageous
