Job summary

Downer New Plymouth is seeking a Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join the Transport & Infrastructure Surfacing team. You will operate heavy machinery, control spray rates, and support sealing works across multiple locations in the region.

The role requires a Class 5 license, a team-first mindset, and interest in roading and chip-sealing projects. You’ll work long hours when needed and travel to various sites, with safety and environmental focus guiding daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Ideally experience with roading and chip-sealing work.
• Must be physically capable to operate heavy machinery.
• Class 5 license or higher preferred.
• Committed to safety, quality, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Operate bitumen sprayer and manage spray rates.
• Conduct quality checks on sealing works.
• Drive sprayer truck and support planter equipment as required.
• Perform routine plant checks and basic maintenance.
• Collaborate with team on roading projects across sites.
