Job summary

SouthRoads is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our civil team across Southland. You will drive bottom dump units and perform hands-on civil work with roading crews on varied road construction and maintenance projects.

We value safety, reliability and a can-do attitude. You’ll undergo pre-start checks, manage paperwork, and contribute to a modern fleet and ongoing training within the HW Richardson Group family.

Qualifications

• Class 5 driver licence.
• Experience in bottom dump, truck-and-trailer or other civil construction work.
• A safety-first attitude and pride in your work.
• The energy for long days when the season's pumping.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

SouthRoads is looking for an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our civil construction team, working mainly on road construction and maintenance projects across the region, with some siteworks and drainage work as required. If you have experience in bottom dump, truck and trailer or other civil construction work and enjoy a varied role, we'd like to hear from you.

About The Role

This varied role is primarily focused on road construction and maintenance, combining Class 5 driving with hands-on civil work alongside our roading crews. Depending on project requirements, your work may include:

• Carting aggregate and materials using bottom dump units
• Truck and trailer work between yards, quarries and sites
• General civil construction duties alongside our paving, roading and drainage crews

You’ll work safely around live traffic, plant and people on site, complete daily pre-start checks, and keep your paperwork, including logbooks and RUC records, accurate.
