Job summary

HEB Construction in Christchurch is seeking a Class 5 Driver to join the North Canterbury maintenance team. This is more than a driving role; you will support road maintenance and work with the wider crew to keep the network safe.

The position is permanent, full-time with 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional nights and Saturday work. HEB offers weekly pay, KiwiSaver after 2 years, a referral bonus, and birthday leave.

Qualifications

• Class 5 licence held, or overseas equivalent
• Previous truck driving experience
• Experience in road maintenance, civil construction or similar
• Physically fit with good stamina
• Strong commitment to safety
• Reliable and proactive attitude

We’re on the hunt for a Class 5 Driver to join our North Canterbury maintenance team.

We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, a strong work ethic and who’s happy to get stuck in. This isn’t just a driving role. You’ll be part of the wider maintenance crew, helping keep the local road network safe and in good condition.

This is a permanent, full-time role, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, generally working Monday to Friday, with some nights and Saturday work from time to time.

• Driving and operating Class 5 truck and trailer combinations

• Looking after your vehicle and equipment

What we’re looking for

• A current Class 5 licence, or overseas equivalent
• Previous truck driving and operating experience
• Ideally, experience in road maintenance, civil construction or a similar environment
• A reasonable level of physical fitness
• A reliable, practical attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
• A strong commitment to working safely
