Job summary

Allied Concrete Invercargill Plant is seeking an experienced Class 4 Driver to join our team in Invercargill. You will deliver ready-mix concrete across the Southland region, operating Class 4 mixer trucks with a focus on safety and on-time delivery.

Hours are typically 5am–6pm, Monday to Saturday, with some early starts. A supportive crew, full uniform and PPE are provided, along with a minimum 30 hours guaranteed per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Class 4 Driver.
• Current licence permitting you to legally operate a Class 4 vehicle in New Zealand.
• Committed to company Health & Safety standards.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Physically fit and takes pride in appearance.
• Commit to strict Drug & Alcohol policy testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating Class 4 concrete mixer trucks.
• Delivering loads safely, on time and to high standards.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting faults.
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and complying with fatigue rules.
• Following NZTA regulations and company/site procedures.
• Participating in toolbox meetings and site teamwork.
• Preventing unauthorized discharges of water, cement, chemicals or dust.
• Escalating environmental issues as needed.
• Adhering to road rules and maintaining professional relationships.
• Assisting with concrete bowl cleaning and driving assessments.

Are you an experienced Class 4 driver who takes pride in safe and reliable service? We’re looking for someone like you to join our team at our Allied Concrete Invercargill Plant.

The Opportunity

This is a full-time role (with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week).

You will delivering ready-mix concrete throughout the Southland region. You'll be part of a friendly crew that works together to get the job done right, safely, efficiently and with great customer service. Your working hours between 5am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and early starts may be required.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Safely operating Class 4 concrete mixer trucks.
• Ensuring every load arrives safely, on time and to the high standards our customers expect.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and promptly reporting faults.
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and complying with work-time and fatigue requirements.
• Following NZTA regulations, company procedures and customer site rules.
• Active involvement in regular toolbox meetings.
• Ensure zero unauthorised discharges of water, cement, chemicals or dust.
• Ensure any environmental issues, including road spillages are escalated.
• Comply with road rules and regulations.
• Maintaining professional relationships with customers, colleagues and other site personnel.
• Participate in any compliance training, support with any concrete bowl cleaning and complete regular driving assessments with a Driver Trainer to maintain driving competency.
