Job summary

HW Richardson Group's Allied Concrete Alexandra Plant is hiring a Class 4 driver for a full-time role in Otago. You will deliver ready-mix concrete across the Otago region and join a friendly crew focused on safety, reliability and great customer service.

Hours are typically 5am–6pm, Monday to Saturday, with early starts possible. A current NZ Class 4 licence and solid driving experience are essential, along with a commitment to health & safety and accurate logkeeping.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience as a Class 4 driver.
• A current licence permitting you to legally operate a Class 4 vehicle in New Zealand.
• Committed to Health & Safety standards.
• Flexible in working hours.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Physically fit and takes pride in appearance.
• Willing to undergo Drug & Alcohol policy testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 4 concrete mixer trucks.
• Deliver ready-mix concrete across Otago region on schedule.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report faults.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and comply with fatigue rules.
• Follow NZTA regulations and site rules.
• Participate in toolbox meetings and training.
• Escalate environmental issues and spills promptly.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Contribute to driving assessments to maintain competency.

Are you an experienced Class 4 driver who takes pride in safe and reliable service? We're looking for someone like you to join our team at our Allied Concrete Alexandra Plant.

The Opportunity

This is a full-time role (with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week).

You will delivering ready-mix concrete throughout the Otago region. You'll be part of a friendly crew that works together to get the job done right, safely, efficiently and with great customer service. Your working hours between 5am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and early starts may be required.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

• Safely operating Class 4 concrete mixer trucks.
• Ensuring every load arrives safely, on time and to the high standards our customers expect.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and promptly reporting faults.
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and complying with work-time and fatigue required.
• Following NZTA regulations, company procedures and customer site rules.
• Active involvement in regular toolbox meetings.
• Ensure zero unauthorised discharges of water, cement, chemicals or dust.
• Ensure any environmental issues, including road spillages are escalated.
• Comply with road rules and regulations.
• Maintaining professional relationships with customers, colleagues and other site personnel.
• Participate in any compliance training, support with any concrete bowl cleaning and complete regular driving assessments with a Driver Trainer to maintain driving competency.
