Job summary

H.W. Richardson Group’s Allied Concrete Alexandra Plant is hiring a Class 4 Driver for a full-time role delivering ready‑mix concrete in Otago. Hours are 5am–6pm, Monday to Saturday, with a minimum 30 hours per week.

You will operate Class 4 mixer trucks, perform safety checks, maintain logbooks and ensure on‑time, safe deliveries with good customer service. Requirements: 2+ years’ Class 4 experience, NZ licence, and commitment to health & safety and drug/alcohol policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as Class 4 Driver.
• Current NZ licence to operate Class 4 vehicle.
• Committed to Health & Safety standards.
• Willing to comply with Drug & Alcohol policy testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating Class 4 concrete mixer trucks.
• Ensuring loads arrive safely, on time and to high standards.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting faults.
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and complying with work-time rules.
• Following NZTA regulations, procedures and site rules.
• Participating in toolbox meetings and maintaining professional relationships.
• Escalating environmental issues as needed.
• Complete driving assessments with a Driver Trainer.

Are you an experienced Class 4 driver who takes pride in safe and reliable service? We're looking for someone like you to join our team at our Allied Concrete Alexandra Plant.

The Opportunity

This is a full-time role (with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week).

You will delivering ready-mix concrete throughout the Otago region. You'll be part of a friendly crew that works together to get the job done right, safely, efficiently and with great customer service. Your working hours between 5am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and early starts may be required.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Safely operating Class 4 concrete mixer trucks.
• Ensuring every load arrives safely, on time and to the high standards our customers expect.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and promptly reporting faults.
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and complying with work-time and fatigue required.
• Following NZTA regulations, company procedures and customer site rules.
• Active involvement in regular toolbox meetings.
• Ensure zero unauthorised discharges of water, cement, chemicals or dust.
• Ensure any environmental issues, including road spillages are escalated.
• Comply with road rules and regulations.
• Maintaining professional relationships with customers, colleagues and other site personnel.
• Participate in any compliance training, support with any concrete bowl cleaning and complete regular driving assessments with a Driver Trainer to maintain driving competency.
