Job summary

Waste Management in Invercargill is seeking a reliability-focused driver to operate a fleet of trucks with the latest onboard technology across Invercargill and surrounding areas.

You will perform driving duties, routine maintenance, and waste loading/unloading in line with company procedures. A Class 2/4 NZ licence, focus on safety, and strong customer service are essential for success.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 2/4 licence required.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to varied tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and equipment per training, procedures and regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicle/equipment.
• Operate computerized systems and other work-related systems.
• Perform loading/unloading and transport/disposal of waste per requirements.
• Undertake servicing, delivery and processing of waste as required.

Job Description

You’ll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles equipped with the latest onboard technology to ensure safe and timely collections across Invercargill and surrounding areas. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with training, instructions or operating procedures and company regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicle and/or equipment as and when required.
• Operate computerized systems and other work related systems.
• Perform loading and unloading duties and transport and disposal of varying waste materials, in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Undertake servicing, delivery and processing of waste as required.

Qualifications

You are customer-focused, reliable, and adaptable. You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you’re open to learning new skills and ongoing training.

• Class 2 or 4 New Zealand driver’s licence
• Adaptable to varied tasks — no two days are the same
