Job summary

Bidfood Tauranga is seeking Class 1 Full and/or Class 2 drivers to join our team. We offer 45 hours per week with a rostered Monday off every second week and daily shifts from 06:00 to 15:30.

The role involves learning foodservice deliveries across cafes, restaurants, and takeaways, with opportunities to progress to a Class 2 licence. Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent driving and customer service, with reliability, punctuality, and a neat appearance.

Qualifications

• Excellent driving skills and safe driving record.
• Understanding invoices, credits, and basic stock control.
• Competent reading and writing skills for records and communication.
• Ability to work without supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Presentable appearance and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Deliver foodservice orders to cafes, restaurants, fish & chips shops, etc.
• Assist with loading/unloading and route planning as needed.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and customer interactions.
• Complete shifts as rostered, with proposed early morning start times.

Bidfood Tauranga is looking for a Class 1 Full and/or Class 2 driver

For a Class 1 full driver this position would suit a person wanting to get into the transport industry, however the successful applicant must have experience with a manual gear box:

• For a class 1 driver the career path is to start out as a store person/driver's assistant.
• Then buddying with a qualified driver helping to complete foodservice deliveries into cafes, restaurants fish & chip shops etc. and learning the business.
• Then moving to driving & delivering from a class 1 truck and progressing to provided support to achieve a class 2 licence.

For a class 2 driver this position would suit a person who has previous driving experience and is looking to advance their career week,

Both positions are full time with Bidfood Tauranga, Tuesday to Saturday with a rostered Monday every second hours are 06:00am - 3.30pm

The right candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
