Job summary

Archway Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer with proven NZ experience to manage Civil projects in Central Otago. You will deliver earthworks, drainage, roading and subdivisions while mentoring junior engineers on site.

You will lead ground crews, oversee QA and Health & Safety, plan programmes, track costs, and manage contracts administration to meet time, quality and safety targets. A full NZ driver’s license and NZ working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Civil Engineering qualification and be able to demonstrate NZ project delivery experience.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills are essential.
• Strong relationships with stakeholders and teams are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage Civil projects on site from start to finish.
• Oversee people, plant and contracts administration.
• Ensure QA, Health & Safety compliance and programme alignment.
• Plan programmes to deliver on time and within budget.
• Prepare claims and invoices for approval and track project costs.

• Deliver and lead a variety of Civil projects
• Take ownership of key stakeholder relationships
• Train and mentor junior engineers

This well-established Civil Contractor has a strong reputation for delivering high quality projects on behalf of local councils and Developers throughout the central Otago region, their team are currently on site working across a variety of Civil Construction projects including Earthworks, Drainage, roading and large scale subdivisions.

The Role

Manage projects and ground crews to ensure they are delivered to specification, programme and contractual requirements.

• Manage the people, plant and contracts administration
• Manage QA, and Health and Safety
• Plan and prepare programmes to ensure projects are delivered on time
• Ensure financial targets and budgets are tracked and reported.
• Prepare claims and invoices for approval
• Track project costs, to ensure budget targets are met

About you:

• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering
• Strong communication and problem solving skills is a must
• Excellent relationship management skills
• At least 3 years' experience in NZ delivering Civil Construction projects
• A Full Drivers Licence.
• Excellent people skills, with the ability to motivate ground crews and get their buy in.
• A history of delivering projects to meet time, quality, and safety; as well as customer expectations.
• Working knowledge of construction contracts such as NZ3910
• You must have legal working rights in NZ
