Job summary

NZ Labour Hire Group is seeking an experienced Civil Operator to join our Hamilton team. This hands-on role delivers civil construction projects across the region, operating and maintaining plant and machinery on site to ensure safe, efficient progress.

You will hold a current civil plant operator's licence, have proven site experience, read plans, and communicate with supervisors. We offer competitive hourly rates and ongoing training within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current civil plant operator's licence or equivalent qualifications.
• Proven experience operating civil plant and machinery on construction sites.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices on site.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, graders, rollers, dozers and other civil plant.
• Conduct pre-operation checks and routine maintenance.
• Follow site-specific instructions to complete tasks safely.
• Maintain records of plant operation, fuel use and maintenance.
• Communicate with site supervisors, team members and contractors.
