Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Alexandra, Central Otago is seeking an experienced Civil Foreperson to lead a crew of 2–5 on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll manage day-to-day site activity, coordinating labour, plant, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver work safely, on time and to budget.

You will be hands-on, lead from the front, and ensure quality, productivity and safety are front of mind while keeping the project moving and compliant with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ civil construction experience with proven leadership of site crews.
• Ability to read and work from plans and deliver to specification.
• Current Class 1 licence with WTR endorsement; Class 5 is an advantage or willing to work towards.
• Clear communication, proactive mindset and strong focus on safety, quality and accountability.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an experienced Civil Foreperson to join our Central Otago team in Alexandra on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role, you’ll lead a crew of 2 to 5 people to deliver good work safely, on time, to budget, and to a high standard. You’ll coordinate day-to-day site activity across people, plant, subcontractors and suppliers, while keeping quality, productivity and safety front of mind. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who leads from the front, backs their team, and knows how to keep things moving.

• A strong understanding of civil construction principles and how they apply on the ground.
• The ability to read and work from plans, and deliver to specification.
• A current Class 1 licence, plus WTR endorsement; Class 5 is an advantage or something you’re willing to work towards.
• Clear communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong focus on safety, quality and accountability.
