Job description

We're looking for an experienced Civil Construction Foreperson to lead from the front and deliver Good Work on site. In this role, you’ll coordinate crews, plant, subcontractors and day-to-day operations to get work done safely, on time, to budget and to a high standard. If you’re practical, calm under pressure and know how to bring people together to get the job done, this could be your next move.

  • Lead site crews and coordinate daily works across labour, plant, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain a safe work environment for your team, subcontractors and the public.
  • Run pre-starts, manage hazards, and make sure safety, quality and environmental processes are followed.
  • Deliver work to programme and specification, with a strong focus on quality, productivity and doing the job right first time.
  • Complete site documentation including job sheets, timesheets, inspections, plant usage records and quality checklists.
  • At least 8 years’ civil construction experience across a range of projects, with strong capability leading crews on site.
  • A full Class 1 licence. A full Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements is preferable.
  • Hands-on experience in bridge building, piling, temporary works, retaining structures, concrete formwork, concrete repairs and concrete placing/finishing.
  • Clear communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the confidence to set expectations and support people well.
  • A practical, safety-first mindset with pride in your work, a positive attitude and a willingness to keep learning.

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. You'll have access to:

  • Medical insurance and Life insurance after the eligibility period.
  • KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.
  • Parental leave top up payment with additional return to work support.
  • Ongoing training and development, with clear career growth and progression opportunities.
  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.

At Fulton Hogan, Good Work is more than what we deliver, it's how we work together. We're a flat, friendly and forward-moving team where ideas matter more than titles, people back each other, and standards stay high. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and when it counts, we switch on and deliver. If you want to be part of a team that values safety, performance, growth and a down-to-earth way of working, you'll fit right in.
