Job summary

ASTRO HOLDING LIMITED, Auckland-based builder and developer, seeks a Civil Engineering Technician to support construction, renovation and property development projects. This permanent role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week and requires strong site coordination and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant construction, civil works or site-based experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Good understanding of civil principles, processes and site coordination.
• Experience with site measurements, materials and quality inspections.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical sketches, plans and documentation for residential civil works.
• Inspect civil/site works for progress and compliance.
• Interpret drawings and project specs to support activities.
• Collect/site measurements and analyze data for planning and monitoring.
• Estimate quantities and costs from project plans and site needs.
• Verify works meet specs, standards and contracts.
• Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist with field testing and record results.
• Maintain accurate project records and photos.
• Support scheduling by tracking progress and resources.
• Coordinate information with contractors and suppliers.
• Assist with project handover and completion docs.
