Placements24 in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, is seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in road and highway design to lead planning, design, and supervision of transportation projects. The role focuses on geometric design, pavement engineering, traffic management, and adherence to design standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate has a BEng, registration or eligibility with ECSA, and at least three years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Registered or eligible for registration as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in road/highway design.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D) and road design software.
Understanding of pavement design principles and materials.

Responsibilities

Design and develop geometric layouts, cross-sections, and earthworks for roads and highways.
Prepare specifications for road construction, including materials, surfacing, and drainage.
Conduct traffic studies and analyses to inform design decisions and safety improvements.
Ensure compliance with the South African Road Design Manual (SARTSM).
Supervise road construction projects, ensuring quality control and adherence to design plans.
Collaborate with environmental engineers and other specialists to address project impacts.
