Job summary

PCL Contracting is seeking an experienced civil Project Manager to lead complex projects in the Wairarapa region, with some Wellington involvement. You will drive delivery, safety, budget control and quality from start to finish, reporting to the Contract Manager and mentoring Foremen and crew.

The role requires hands-on leadership on site, strong communication, planning and relationship management to keep projects on programme and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience managing civil construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong communication and planning abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Demonstrated budget control, cost reporting and resource planning.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety and NZS 3910.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects to meet programme, budget, health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Plan construction operations, resources, equipment, materials and manpower.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure site inductions and safety requirements are completed.
• Provide regular reporting and project updates to the Contract Manager.
• Coaching of the team and leadership on site when required.
• On site management of staff performance issues working with Management and HR.
