Job summary
Hamilton City Council is seeking a hands-on street landscapes worker to maintain greenspaces and support city gardening initiatives. The role involves daily landscape upkeep, assisting the broader team, and complying with traffic management and safety standards in all weather conditions.
Applicants should hold NZ horticulture qualifications (Level 3) and a valid NZ driver licence, with Grow Safe a plus. The team emphasises harmony, reliability, and adaptability in a community-focused council
Qualifications
- NZ Certificate in Horticulture Services (Level 3) Amenity or similar is required.
- Grow Safe qualification would be advantageous to applicants.
- Experience with traffic management setups and compliance expected.
- Current full New Zealand Driver Licence is required.
- Experience in agrichemical preparation and application is preferred.
- Knowledge of amenity plants and general tools/equipment is essential.
- Ability to identify plant pests and diseases, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance of street landscapes across the city.
- Support gardening activities and assist the wider team as needed.
- Adhere to health, safety and traffic management guidelines.
