Job summary

Green by Nature in Horowhenua District is seeking a reliable gardener to join the team in Levin. You will perform general garden maintenance across multiple sites, including planting, weeding, pruning and vegetation control, as well as care for bedding displays, hanging baskets, roses, borders and shrubs.

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work with others to maintain high standards, stay safe, and keep to a well-planned schedule.

Qualifications

• Practical gardening experience preferred but not required.
• Full driver''s licence with ability to drive a manual vehicle.
• Level 3 National Certificate in Horticulture and GrowSafe certificate preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Energetic and reliable.

Responsibilities

• General garden maintenance across multiple sites in Levin.

About The Role

Reporting to the Team Manager and working closely with other team members, you will be responsible for general garden maintenance across multiple sites in Levin. Your duties will include planting, weeding, pruning, and vegetation control, as well as maintaining bedding displays, hanging baskets, roses, borders, and shrubbery. You will ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards, maintaining a well-planned and timely schedule while prioritising the safety of the public, your team, and yourself.

Who We Are Looking For

Ideally, we would love someone who has practical experience in gardening/horticulture industry, however, this is not a must. As long as you have an awesome work ethic, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in then you would be a perfect candidate. Other success factors also include:

• A current, full driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
• A willingness to accept responsibility and ownership of jobs whilst working as part of a wider team - helping out your teammates needs to be second nature
• Level 3 National Certificate in Horticulture is preferred, along with a current GrowSafe certificate
• Excellent relationship building and great communication skills
• Energetic, motivated with a strong desire to get the job done
