Job summary

Golden Cobweb Restaurant & Takeaways in Alexandra, Otago, is seeking a full-time Chinese Cook to join a friendly, busy kitchen. You will prepare traditional Chinese dishes and takeaway meals to our recipes and standards.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of experience or a Level 4+ qualification, must be able to work weekends and overtime, and demonstrate reliability and fitness for a fast-paced environment. We offer good pay and 30–60 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant kitchen experience or a Level 4+ qualification.
• Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all Chinese Cuisine dishes are prepared to the specifications.
• Ensuring all Chinese Cuisine recipes and preparation requirements are met.
• Ensuring temperatures, seasonings and flavors are to specification.
• Ensuring all foods are presented and served in a timely manner and in the correct sequence.
• Ensuring the storage offoods and others meet statutory Health and Safety requirements.
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
• Updating and developing new cooking techniques and procedures in accordance with the new menu.
• General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated cook with a passion for Chinese cuisine who can work confidently and efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.

Key tasks & responsibilities:
