Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Childminder Supervisor for a community-focused childcare provider in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role combines on-site home visits with hybrid admin work, overseeing a network of registered childminders to ensure high-quality, safe, nurturing care.

You will mentor, train, and monitor quality, ensure compliance with safety standards and the South African Children's Act, and contribute to policy development while coordinating with families and the team.

Qualifications

• A recognized qualification in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or a related field is essential.
• Minimum of 4 years in a childcare setting, with at least 2 years in supervisory or mentoring roles.
• Knowledge of child development principles, safety regulations, and relevant local acts.
• Strong assessment, observation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver training and support to childminders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular home visits to assess care quality and compliance.
• Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing support to childminders.
• Develop and deliver training on child development, health and safety, and curriculum implementation.
• Ensure operations meet childcare legislation and policies.
• Maintain records of registrations, inspections, and trainings.
• Assist childminders in play-based learning activities.
• Promote positive relationships with families and communities.
• Participate in team meetings and strategic planning.
