Job summary

Evonik Peroxide Ltd seeks a Chemical Process Technician for a 24/7, 12-hour shift role at our Morrinsville site in New Zealand. You will operate a complex chemical production plant, work in a team, and rotate through engineering, safety, and project tasks while upholding high safety standards.

You should have operations/chemistry/engineering qualifications and SAP/MS database experience; safety systems like Permit-to-Work are a plus, with strong communication and self-starting abilities

• Formal qualifications in operations, chemistry, engineering, instrumentation, or electrical fields.
• Familiarity with SAP or MS databases and quality systems.

We are seeking a Chemical Process Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on role in a Major Hazard Facility, requiring dedication, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety. This role involves operating a complex chemical production plant on a 24/7 shift basis (4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shifts).

Key responsibilities

• Safely running the production process in a team-oriented environment
• Covering additional shifts and assisting with breakdowns when necessary
• Participating in rotational business management tasks during non-shift periods (e.g., engineering, safety, production, and project management)
• Ensuring compliance with safety, legislative, and regulatory requirements

About you

• Operations or technical experience in a process industry
• Tertiary qualifications or trade certificates in Operations, Chemistry, Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electrical fields
• Familiarity with SAP or MS databases, project management, analytical/quality systems (e.g., ISO9002), and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Permit-to-Work systems or Safety Management is an advantage, but a commitment to high safety standards is essential
• Ability to climb stairs and lift equipment as part of daily tasks
• Strong communication skills, accountability, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Sound knowledge of computer systems and the ability to self-start
