Evonik Peroxide Ltd in Morrinsville, New Zealand, is seeking a Chemical Process Technician to operate a complex Hydrogen Peroxide production plant on a 24/7 shift (4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shifts). The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and adherence to regulatory standards.

You will cover shifts, support breakdowns, and participate in rotational business tasks while ensuring safe operation and compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• Operations or technical experience in a process industry.
• Tertiary qualifications or trade certificates in Operations, Chemistry, Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electrical fields.
• Familiarity with SAP or MS databases, project management, analytical/quality systems (e.g., ISO9002).
• Experience with Permit-to-Work systems is an advantage, but a commitment to high safety standards is essential.
• Ability to climb stairs and lift equipment; strong communication, accountability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Safely run the production process in a team environment.
• Cover additional shifts and assist with breakdowns when needed.
• Participate in rotational business management tasks during non-shift periods (engineering, safety, production, projects).

Our unique New Zealand site based in Morrinsville is the only facility in NZ manufacturing Hydrogen Peroxide, supplying products to local and export customers such as pulp and paper, mining, wool scouring, food and beverage, among others.

Job Description

We are seeking a Chemical Process Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on role in a Major Hazard Facility, requiring dedication, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety.

This role involves operating a complex chemical production plant on a 24/7 shift basis (4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shifts). Responsibilities include:

• Safely running the production process in a team-oriented environment.
• Covering additional shifts and assisting with breakdowns when necessary.
• Participating in rotational business management tasks during non-shift periods (e.g., engineering, safety, production, and project management).
• Ensuring compliance with safety, legislative, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
