Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

About Us

Radix is a functional nutrition company built around a simple idea: food should have a purpose. We design high-protein breakfasts, protein smoothies, and protein powders as an integrated system, proudly made in New Zealand, to support everyday vitality: steady energy, strength, mental clarity, and resilience. Rather than chasing food trends, everything we make starts with one question: what does the body actually need, and how do we deliver it well? As we grow, our production site is the engine behind that promise, which is why keeping it running reliably, safely, and to a high standard matters so much.

About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Production Engineer to take ownership of our facility and equipment as we scale. This is a site-critical role: you'll be the person who keeps our automated production lines, cleanrooms, warehousing, HVAC, and ammonia refrigeration systems running reliably, safely, and to a high standard, day in and day out. You won't just be reacting to breakdowns. You'll be building the systems, schedules, and standards that let the site run smoothly as volume grows, taking real ownership of the facility rather than just maintaining it.

Key responsibilities
  • Taking ownership of all production equipment and facility infrastructure, acting as the go-to person for uptime, performance, and reliability
  • Maintaining and improving automated production equipment, including troubleshooting, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement
  • Managing HVAC systems and ammonia refrigeration plant, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation

  • Managing relationships with contractors and service providers (refrigeration, HVAC, calibration, compliance)
  • Ensuring the site meets relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements (including ammonia handling and refrigeration compliance)
About you
  • Trade or engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration/HVAC background preferred)
  • Experience maintaining automated production or processing equipment
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration systems - ammonia experience highly regarded
  • Understanding of cleanroom or controlled-environment standards (food, pharma, or similar regulated industry a plus)
  • A proactive, ownership mindset - someone who sees a problem and fixes it, not someone who waits to be told
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
  • Comfortable managing contractors and prioritising competing maintenance demands
  • High personal standards for safety, cleanliness, and process discipline
  • Ability to thrive in a growing business - flexible, practical, and willing to get hands dirty
