Job summary

Smith's Mitre 10 Mega in Christchurch is seeking a Café Head Chef to lead the kitchen for a busy Columbus Coffee inside the store. You will start with a full induction and training, then manage a small team of two chefs and work unsupervised when needed.

The role demands high standards, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays. The ideal candidate has experience in short order brunch and bakery items, strong communication, stock

Qualifications

• Be a teamplayer with good communication skills
• Experience to lead a talented team of 2 other chefs
• Confident with stock control systems and costing

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals as per Columbus Coffee Standards
• Prepare baked goods for cabinet, ensuring freshness
• Create seasonal local dishes
• Manage productivity, stock control and rotation
• Monitor food purchasing and supplier specs
• Maintain high standards of Food Safety compliance
