Job summary

Flame Bar and Grill in Queenstown, NZ is seeking a Chef de Partie capable of running their own grill section within a fast-paced all-day dining environment. Growth opportunities exist for progression to more senior kitchen roles.

Minimum 3 years of high-volume restaurant experience, strong communication, and teamwork are essential. The role offers a minimum 30-hour contract with potential for increased hours and sponsorship for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment (minimum 3 years experience)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a busy team environment
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food
• We are offering a minimum 30 hour contract - if you want to grab a lot of hours though, we are the place for you.

Responsibilities

• Run your own section with grill focus and maintain high standards of food preparation

Flame Bar & Grillisone ofQueenstown’s most loved and iconic steakhouse's. SunFire is our new restaurant which opened in June 2024 which isQueenstown’s newest all-day dining offering– proof you can take a beloved favourite and playfully move in new and flavoursome directions.

Our chef is crafting an all-day menu bursting with flavours often seared over charcoal ovens specially imported for the task. There will be some respectful nods to the African roots of Sunfire’s more famous sibling, but each given a suprising new twist.

The menu highlights some incredible locally-sourced produce.

About the Role

Chef de Partie – able to competently run their own section - experience on the grill is an advantage. Be able work as part of a team. If skill set suits, progression within the company to more senior kitchen roles is definitely on the table.
