Job summary

Sundays in Queenstown is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team in a beautiful, restored church–setting with wood-fired capabilities. You will own a designated section, prepare Neapolitan pizzas, pasta and shared plates, and work with senior chefs to ensure consistent quality and presentation.

We offer a permanent position with a minimum of 30 hours per week, a close-knit team, and the chance to grow within a lively community hub renowned for great food and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Six months' relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
• Strong cooking, preparation and time-management skills.
• Ability to confidently manage a section during busy services.
• Genuine passion for great food and consistent quality.
• Positive attitude and strong team mentality.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of designated sections, ensuring food is prepared, cooked and presented to Sundays' standards.
• Prepare and cook dishes across the menu, including Neapolitan-style pizza, pasta and shared plates.
• Complete mise en place efficiently and keep your section organised for service.
• Work closely with Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver smooth services.
• Follow recipes and specifications with accurate portion control and waste minimisation.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or ordering needs to senior chefs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and professional kitchen environment.
