Job summary

BLACK ESTATE is inviting a Cook De Partie to join our North Canterbury winery restaurant for the season, from now until at least April. The role focuses on delivering lunch service five days a week, under the mentorship of our Head Chef, with opportunities to run a full section in a supportive, small-team setting.

We value foraging interest and connections with local growers, and wine-with-food pairing awareness.

Qualifications

• CDP role requires willingness to learn from Head Chef and refine skills.
• Ability to work in a small team across sections and run your own station.
• Interest in foraging, connection with local growers, and pairing wine with food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes for lunch service in a five-day week.
• Learn across kitchen sections and take ownership of your own station.
• Collaborate with Head Chef and local suppliers to maintain high-quality produce.

We're a family owned, organic winery in North Canterbury, 45 minutes from central Christchurch. Our restaurant has been awarded two hats consistently since 2019 by Cuisine Good Food Awards.

Our restaurant is open 5 days a week and for lunch only. We use local, seasonal, organic and foraged produce on our menu.

We are looking for a CDP to work with us from now until atleast April. If the chef wishes to stay on that is fine but we also offer a fixed term for the busy season until early April.

We're looking for someone who -

Day time shifts only, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We do have very occasional evening events and collaborations.

Good pay offered, car pooling with petrol allowance from Christchurch offered. We can also help with finding a rental in Amberley or Waipara if of interest.
