Job summary

Distinction Hotels – Christchurch, South Island, is seeking a full-time kitchen professional to support our high-season demand. The successful candidate will assist the Exec Chef and Sous Chef, and oversee a section of the Kitchen to ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques follow our established recipes.

Applicants must have experience in both grill and cold section cooking, and possess prior experience with à la carte and buffet service.

Qualifications

• Experience in grill and cold section is essential.
• Experience with à la carte cooking and buffet service is required.
• Experience in a high-season kitchen environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Exec Chef and Sous Chef.
• Oversee a section of the kitchen to maintain food standards, prep and presentation.
• Ensure adherence to established recipes and kitchen systems.

Candidates must have experience as both grill and cold section chef. Prior experience with a la carte and buffet cooking is essential. The kitchen is streamlined and all systems in place to allow easy onboarding to the role.
