Job summary

Compass Group Chartwells is seeking a skilled chef to prepare and deliver meals for school students and events within a Brisbane college environment. You will lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring safety and quality, while mentoring junior staff and supporting OH&S compliance.

The role offers a family-friendly schedule, opportunities for training and career growth, and meals provided on shift. You will work with a collaborative team that values quality, presentation and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) for the Chef’s role.
• Experience as a Chef for the Chef’s role.
• Experience as a Cook for the Cook’s role.
• Skilled in bulk cooking with a strong focus on quality and presentation.
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and food safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality meals for school students and events.
• Lead daily kitchen operations while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Mentor and support kitchen staff, fostering a positive, service-focused culture.
• Ensure full OH&S compliance, following safe work practices and food handling procedures.
• Manage stock levels and ordering to meet budget requirements.
