Job summary

Compass Group in Wellington is seeking an experienced Hospitality Manager to lead a large, established team across multiple outlets, including a commercial café and events catering. You will drive high-quality service, develop leadership capabilities, and collaborate with clients to achieve outstanding dining experiences.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ management experience in hospitality, with qualifications in hospitality and business acumen preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years industry experience at management level.
• Qualifications in hospitality with business management preferred.
• Good communication and people management skills are essential.
• Experience in a comparable environment or within a multi-site catering environment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing campus-wide food and beverage offering.
• Communicate and work collaboratively with our client on all aspects of delivering a quality service to achieve mutually rewarding outcomes.
• Developing leadership and employee capability and foster a high-performance culture through continuous improvement and innovation.
• Build and leverage effective stakeholder relationships to achieve business objectives.
• Drive operational efficiency to maximise financial results without compromising quality.
• Responsible for managing team across 2 outlets, including Head Chef, Sous Chef, residential, retail and functions.
• Catering at a high level for events and functions (internal and external stakeholders).
• Oversight of the provision of quality products to a commercial café.
• Oversight of the development and professional presentation of the commercial café staff.
• Provision of quality service and product to student tuck-shops.
• Personally develop every team member by listening, coaching, supporting and encouraging them to optimise performance.
• Oversight of the administrative functions associated within your responsibility remit.
