Job summary

Lanzhou Beef Noodle Ltd in Mt Roskill, Auckland is seeking a skilled Chef to prepare and cook all dishes, supervise kitchen operations and maintain high quality food and service. This full-time role typically requires around 40 hours per week, with guaranteed 30 hours.

The position involves managing costs, training staff and ensuring hygienic kitchen practices. The candidate should have at least two years of experience in Chinese cuisine, or a cookery certificate.

• A cookery-related certificate can replace the required experience.
• Must have a can-do attitude and work well under pressure in a very busy restaurant.
• Good attention to detail to ensure cleanliness of work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all dishes offered by the restaurant.
• Monitor the quality of food during preparation, cooking and presentation.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques to kitchen staff.

Job description

Lanzhou Beef Noodle Ltdis located at Mt Roskill, Auckland. We provide top-class Lanzhou noodles and other dishes. We now need one Chef to help us provide top-quality food and service. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 hours per week, but you will normally be required to work around 40 hours.

The job involves the following tasks and duties:

• Preparing and cooking all the dishes offered by the restaurant
• Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation
• Demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures to the kitchen staffs
• Providing training in cooking technique or health regulations , if necessary
• Supervising the performance of kitchen staff
• Improving dishes and developing the chef ’ s menu
• Managing the overall operation of the kitchen
• Ordering supplies and stocks
• Estimating food and labour cost and assisting in cost control
• Ensuring the kitchen ’ s operation complies with hygiene and safety regulations.

To qualify for the job:

• At least two year sof work experience in cooking Chinese Cuisine is needed.
• A cookery-related certificate can replace the required work experience requirement.
• Have a can-do attitude and be able to work under pressure since our restaurant is extremely busy during peak hours.
• You should also have good attention to detail to make sure everything that goes through your hand is thoroughly clean
