Job summary

Brilliant Minds Early Childhood Centre in Auckland is seeking an experienced ECE centre supervisor to guide a caring team and oversee daily operations in a welcoming learning space. You will lead curriculum planning and ensure child-centred outcomes while fostering strong relationships with families and the broader community.

The role requires an recognised ECE or primary teaching qualification, a current practising certificate, and a proactive, collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

  • ECE/Primary teaching qualification and current practising certificate required.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an ECE setting.
  • Strong understanding of Te Whāriki and NZ ECE regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and support a diverse teaching team.
  • Builds positive relationships with children, parents and whānau.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Holding a current First Aid certificate or willing to obtain one.
  • Positive and inclusive workplace culture and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the teaching team to provide high-quality education and care.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the centre.
  • Mentor teachers and staff and promote collaboration.
  • Ensure curriculum planning and learning outcomes are meaningful and child-centred.
  • Maintain strong relationships with children, whānau and the wider community.
  • Ensure policies, licensing requirements and health and safety standards are followed.
  • Assist with staffing rosters and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Support management to achieve centre goals and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.

We are looking for an inspiring Early Childhood Education (ECE) centre supervisor to step into our vibrant, welcoming space in Auckland and become the true heartbeat of our wonderful learning community.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support the teaching team to provide high-quality education and care
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the centre
  • Support and mentor teachers and other staff
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture
  • Ensure curriculum planning and learning outcomes are meaningful and child-centred
  • Maintain strong relationships with children, parents, whānau and the wider community
  • Ensure policies, procedures and licensing requirements are followed
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, child protection and wellbeing
  • Assist with staff rosters and maintaining appropriate staffing levels
  • Manage parent enquiries and resolve concerns professionally
  • Work alongside management to achieve centre goals and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Promote a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment for every child
