Job summary

Mangatangi & Districts Playcentre is seeking a part-time Centre Coordinator for Ngatea and Mangatangi Playcentres. The role focuses on supporting adult learners and building confidence within families, while ensuring high-quality, whānau-led sessions.

You will work as Person Responsible during sessions, guiding curriculum delivery, health and safety, and regulatory compliance while promoting Playcentre philosophy and Te Tiriti o Waitangi values.

Qualifications

• Course 3 of the Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent ECE Qualification Level 4+
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
• First Aid certification
• Strong knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Playcentre philosophy
• Comfort using technology to support learning and administration

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki with rich, child-led curriculum experiences
• Role-modelling and delivering high quality, whānau-led sessions
• Providing guidance on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery
• Ensuring sessions meet Health and Safety and regulatory requirements
• Promoting Māori cultural values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi within Playcentre sessions
